Having a positive effect on climate, is not the reason I made these changes in my life. I made them because I wanted more pleasure incorporated into my daily grind. Having a positive effect on my ecological footprint, was the icing on the very tasty cake my life has become through growing some of my own food. But for Blog Action Day ‘09 I will re-frame my reasons in climate terms.

How do we “carry on”, as the Brits might say? Well, I’m not at all interested in “carrying on” actually. I want to thrive. I was raised with mighty high expectations of what this life can be, and I’m not giving those expectations up. I want to reach the top of Maslow’s heirarchy of needs. I want to love and live well. And I want to eat REALLY well. I got used to that in the 1990’s.
